or click to select it
Remove the date stamp that some older cameras and phones burn into the corner of a photo, by painting over it, directly in your browser.
Uses an inpainting model (MI-GAN) running in your browser via WebAssembly to regenerate the area where the date was printed, based on the surrounding texture.
Use cases
- Recovering old compact-camera photos without the burned-in date stamp.
- Preparing a keepsake photo for printing without the date mark.
- Cleaning a scanned album photo that has a date printed on it.
How it works
- 1
Upload the photo
The date stamp is usually in a corner, in orange or yellow digits.
- 2
Paint over the date
Cover the numbers completely with the brush.
- 3
Click "Remove"
The AI reconstructs the area. The first time it downloads a model (~10 MB).
Frequently asked questions
Does it detect the date automatically?
No — you paint over it by hand, same as any other text. It's usually quick since the date stamp is small.
Does it work if the date is over a highly detailed background?
It works best when the background under the date is fairly uniform (sky, wall, ground). Over a very detailed area, the result may need a small touch-up.
