Online generators

Secure passwords, UUIDs, PINs and other values generated with the browser's cryptographic APIs.

Tools in this category

Not everything generated here serves the same purpose: a password needs to resist guessing attempts, a UUID needs to avoid colliding across different systems, and a random color just needs to vary. This guide explains what each generator actually guarantees and what it doesn't.

What you want to generate

  • Passwords: to protect an account or service, designed to resist guessing attempts.
  • Numeric PIN: a short code, usually to unlock something, not meant to protect sensitive data long-term.
  • UUID: a unique identifier for use in databases or code, not a secret.
  • Random number in a range: for raffles, sampling or any random pick within limits you define.
  • Random color: a random hex color, useful for design inspiration, unrelated to security.

Randomness, uniqueness and security

All five tools in this category generate their values using the browser's cryptographic API (crypto.getRandomValues), not Math.random -- the same cryptographic-quality randomness source in every case, using rejection sampling to avoid the bias a simple modulo would introduce. Random doesn't mean unique: even though each value is chosen at random, two separate generations can coincide purely by chance, especially the smaller the space of possible results is. A 4-digit PIN only has 10,000 possible combinations, so getting the same PIN twice across separate generations isn't unlikely; a random color has around 16.7 million possible values; a long password with several character types has an astronomically larger space of possibilities, making an accidental match practically negligible.

Passwords and PINs: sensitive data

The password generator builds each character by picking randomly among the types you enable (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols), with a length between 8 and 64 characters; you can exclude ambiguous characters like uppercase O, zero, uppercase I, lowercase l or one. Generating a strong password isn't enough on its own: it still needs to be stored in a password manager or a secure location, since good generation doesn't protect a password that's later stored or shared insecurely.

Identifiers and configurable values

The UUID generator creates v4-format identifiers (random, not based on the date or the device's network address), in batches of up to 100 at once. The random number generator lets you choose the minimum and maximum of the range: each result is independent of the previous one, so fixing the same limits doesn't produce the same number twice in a row, but it also doesn't guarantee it won't repeat. The color generator has no options: every click produces a new random hex color.

Privacy and limits

Everything is generated in your browser: no generated value (password, PIN, UUID, number or color) is sent to any server. If you copy a result to your clipboard, what happens to that copy afterward -- your system's clipboard history, syncing across devices, installed extensions -- is no longer something QuickToolio controls.

Frequently asked questions

Are all the generators in this category equally secure?

They all use the same cryptographic randomness source from the browser. What changes is the space of possible values: a long password is much harder to guess than a 4-digit PIN or a color, not because the randomness differs, but because there are far fewer possible combinations in a PIN or a color.

Can I generate the same UUID twice?

It's extremely unlikely, though not mathematically impossible: a v4 UUID's value space is so large that an accidental collision isn't a practical risk.

Does a random number with the same range always give different results?

Not necessarily. Each generation is independent, so fixing the same minimum and maximum can produce the same number twice, especially with a small range.

Is generating a strong password here enough to protect my account?

It generates the password with good randomness, but final security also depends on how you store and use it afterward: you still need a password manager or secure storage, and you shouldn't reuse it across multiple services.

Can the random color generator be used for passwords or keys?

No. It generates a hex color for design or visual inspiration, with no relation to security or sensitive data.
