Decodes the PNG image and re-encodes it as JPG, filling any transparent area with a white background since JPG has no alpha channel.

Technical details
- JPG has no transparency: transparent areas are filled with white. Check logos or icons with a transparent background: they'll sit on a white box.
- A quality slider (40% to 100%, 90% by default) sets the balance between file size and sharpness; you'll see the original and resulting size before downloading.
- For screenshots with small text, JPG can show halos around letters; in that case stick with PNG or try WebP.
- EXIF metadata (camera, date, GPS location) isn't copied to the new file; phone photo orientation is applied to the pixels, so the image doesn't come out rotated.
- Limits: one image at a time, up to 25 MB and 40 megapixels.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the JPG so much smaller than the original PNG?
PNG is a lossless format designed for graphics with few colors; JPG uses lossy compression optimized for photographs, which is much more efficient in that case.
Which quality should I pick?
For photos, 80% to 90% usually shows no visible difference on screen. Below 70%, blocks start to appear in gradients such as skies.
