Technical details
- The first conversion downloads the HEIC decoder (about 3 MB, based on libheif compiled to WebAssembly); your photo never leaves your device.
- An iPhone photo as PNG can be ten times larger than the original HEIC.
- The photo's metadata (date, camera, location) isn't carried over to the PNG.
- Limits: one image at a time, up to 25 MB and 40 megapixels.

Why choose PNG over JPG?
