QR code generator to call a number

Generate a QR code that starts a phone call when scanned, so the person doesn't have to dial the number by hand.

Processed on your device. Nothing is sent to any server.

Enter a phone number to generate the QR code.

Builds a standard tel: link, recognized by every smartphone to start a call.

Use cases

  • Adding a quick-call button to a business sign.
  • Making it easy to call from a business card.
  • Putting up an emergency QR code with a direct contact number.

How it works

  1. 1

    Enter the phone number

Include the country code if applicable.

  2. 2

    Download the QR code

Scanning it will prompt the phone to call that number.

Technical details

  • It builds a tel: link with the digits and the + sign. Any other character (spaces, dashes, brackets, commas) is removed.
  • Include the international prefix (+1, +44…) if the code may be scanned from another country.
  • When scanned, the phone offers to call; it never dials without the person confirming.
  • Download as PNG (128 to 1024 px) or SVG, which scales without losing sharpness for print. The code is static: it doesn't expire, doesn't go through any server and doesn't track scans.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add an extension or pauses?

No: the code only keeps digits and the + sign, so commas, semicolons or hash signs are removed. Print the extension separately next to the code.
