Technical details
- It opens the CBR with the official UnRAR code compiled to WebAssembly (RAR4 and RAR5) and lists only its images (JPG, PNG, WEBP or GIF) in natural reading order, with thumbnails.
- It downloads them all together in a ZIP, each prefixed with its page number (001-, 002-…) to keep the order, and exactly as they were: no recompression.
- Many .cbr files are renamed ZIPs: this is detected from the content and they open the same. ComicInfo.xml and non-image files are ignored. A password-protected CBR can't be opened here; use Extract RAR.
- Split RARs are not supported. Limits: 50 MB of input, 2,000 entries and 300 MB uncompressed.
Frequently asked questions
Are the images recompressed?
No, the original bytes are downloaded exactly as they were in the file.
Does it work with password-protected CBR files?
Not in this first version; only unencrypted CBR files are supported.
