Reduce noise and grain in an image with AI, keeping its original size, directly in your browser.

Uses a photo restoration model (Real-ESRGAN, compact variant) running in your browser via WebAssembly: it first reconstructs the image at higher resolution while smoothing noise and artifacts, then scales it back down to the original size — a known technique for cleaning up a photo without enlarging it.

Use cases

  • Cleaning up grain in a low-light photo.
  • Reducing noise in a scanned image.
  • Smoothing compression artifacts in a heavily compressed photo.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload the image

Low-light photos usually have more noise to clean up.

  2. 2

    Click "Enhance"

The first time it downloads an AI model (~5 MB).

  3. 3

    Download the result

Same size as the original image, but cleaner.

Frequently asked questions

Does the result lose detail?

The model balances cleaning up noise with preserving real detail; in very noisy areas, some smoothing is unavoidable.

Why does it use a super-resolution model to reduce noise?

It's the same technology: the model reconstructs a clean image at higher resolution and then scales it back to the original size, taking advantage of how that process naturally smooths out noise.
