Convert MOV to MP3 online
Convert a MOV file to MP3 directly in your browser — the file is never uploaded to a server.
or click to select it
Pull just the audio out of a MOV file — the QuickTime container iPhones and Macs use for camera footage and screen recordings — and get back a small, portable MP3 that plays anywhere.
MOV is Apple's QuickTime container, the format iPhone camera recordings, iOS screen recordings and Mac screen captures are all saved in. The tool throws away the video track completely and re-encodes whatever audio is inside as MP3, turning a video that can run into hundreds of megabytes into an audio file a fraction of the size.
Use cases
- Turn an iPhone or Mac screen recording into a podcast-style MP3 without the video weight.
- Pull the audio track from a MOV video call recording to listen to later.
- Convert camera footage shot on iPhone into an MP3 that plays on any device, not just Apple ones.
How it works
- 1
Upload your MOV file
Drop in a clip recorded on iPhone, iPad or Mac, or select it from your device.
- 2
Adjust the bitrate if you want
A high automatic quality is used by default; set a specific bitrate in the options for a smaller file.
- 3
Download the MP3
Once it's done, download the audio-only file.
Technical details
Runs ffmpeg.wasm in your browser. What's actually inside a MOV file's audio track depends on how it was made: iPhone and Mac screen recordings often store it as uncompressed PCM, while footage shot on a camera is usually compressed AAC. The tool detects and decodes either one before re-encoding it to MP3.
Frequently asked questions
Will this work with a screen recording from my iPhone or Mac?
Yes — screen recordings, camera footage and any other MOV file are handled the same way; only the audio track is kept.
Is there a file size limit?
Videos up to 300 MB work reliably on most devices; larger files may exhaust the browser's available memory.
