Technical details
- Changing the number of paragraphs or clicking "Generate" gives you a different text.
- Words are combined at random from a list of 47 terms from the classic passage, so the text doesn't necessarily start with "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet".
- It produces plain text, with no HTML tags; paragraphs are separated by a blank line.
Frequently asked questions
Is it real Latin?
Not quite. Classic Lorem Ipsum comes from a scrambled excerpt of Cicero's "De finibus bonorum et malorum", and here its words are also combined at random, so it has no meaning.
Why use placeholder text instead of real text?
It lets you judge typography, spacing and layout without the content getting in the way. Always replace it with the final text before publishing.
