Trigonometry calculator: sine, cosine, tangent and reciprocals
Calculate all six trigonometric ratios of an angle: the direct ones (sine, cosine and tangent) and the reciprocals (cosecant, secant and cotangent). Enter the angle in degrees or radians.

Computes the sine and cosine of the angle and derives the rest from them:
- tan = sin ÷ cos
- csc = 1 ÷ sin
- sec = 1 ÷ cos
- cot = cos ÷ sin
Use cases
- Solving triangles in geometry or physics exercises.
- Splitting a force or velocity into its components.
- Checking trigonometry worked out by hand.
How it works
- 1
Type the angle
Decimals, negatives and angles over a full turn are accepted.
- 2
Pick degrees or radians
Degrees by default; switch to radians if your angle is in rad.
Technical details
- When the denominator is 0 the function is undefined and shows "-": tan 90°, sec 90°, csc 0°, cot 0°, csc 180°…
- Floating-point values within 10⁻¹² of 0 are treated as exactly 0, so sin 180° gives 0 rather than 1.2 × 10⁻¹⁶.
- Cosecant, secant and cotangent are the reciprocal functions (1 ÷ the direct one). They're not the inverse functions (arcsine, arccosine, arctangent), which go the other way: from a value back to an angle.
- Result with up to 10 significant digits.
Frequently asked questions
What is sin 30°?
Exactly 0.5. Cos 60° is also 0.5, and tan 45° is 1.
Is cosecant the same as arcsine?
No. Cosecant is 1 ÷ sine (csc 30° = 2). Arcsine is the inverse function: it returns the angle whose sine is a given value (arcsin 0.5 = 30°).
