Technical details
- Enter one range per line or separate them with commas: "1-3" for pages 1 to 3, or a single number ("5") for one page. Each range produces one PDF. Numbers are the page's physical position in the file (the first is 1), not the number printed on it.
- The files download together as "split.zip", with one file per range in the order you wrote them and the range in the name (part-1_p1-3.pdf, part-2_p5.pdf…).
- Pages aren't recompressed. The result is a new document: pages are copied with their content, but not the bookmarks (side outline) or the original's metadata, such as title or author.
- Limit: 50 MB per PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Can I define overlapping ranges?
Yes, each range is processed independently, so the same page can appear in more than one resulting file if you define it that way.
How do I save every page as a separate file?
Enter each page number separated by commas or on its own line (1, 2, 3…). For a long document it's usually easier to extract only the pages you need with the extract pages tool.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
No. An encrypted PDF can't be opened without its password. If you know it, remove it first with the unlock PDF tool, then use the resulting file.
