Pick a random item from a list
Paste a list of options, one per line, and let the tool pick one at random for you. Useful for quick decisions without personal bias.
Every line in the list has exactly the same probability of being chosen, calculated with the browser's cryptographic API.

Technical details
- Each non-empty line is an option; leading and trailing spaces are trimmed.
- One result is picked per click; to draw several winners without repeats, shuffle the list with the list shuffler and take the first ones.
- Randomness comes from crypto.getRandomValues(), the browser's cryptographic source, with rejection sampling so no outcome is favored.
- Results aren't stored or sent anywhere: if you need to prove a draw to other people, run it in front of them or record the screen.
Frequently asked questions
Do all options have the same probability?
Every line in the list takes part with the same probability, not every unique piece of text: the tool picks a line, not a value. If you type the same option on two lines, that option has twice the chance of coming up compared to one that only appears once; if you want every unique option to have the same odds, remove duplicate lines first. Empty lines are ignored, and leading or trailing spaces on each line don't count.
