MOBI (Mobipocket) is an older ebook format, largely replaced by EPUB, the open standard used today by most e-readers and reading apps (Amazon being the main exception, with its own formats). This tool reads the .mobi file, walks through its chapters in reading order, and generates a valid EPUB 3 that keeps each chapter's title, embedded images, the cover (when the file includes one), and the book's basic metadata.

It's mainly useful for migrating older ebook libraries to modern EPUB-compatible readers and apps (the vast majority outside the Kindle ecosystem), or simply to open a .mobi file on a device that doesn't support it.

Frequently asked questions

Are images and the cover preserved?

Yes, images embedded in chapters and the cover (when the file includes one) are preserved and packaged inside the resulting EPUB.

Does it work with DRM-protected MOBI or AZW files?

No. If the file is DRM-protected, the tool detects it and shows a clear warning instead of attempting a conversion -- QuickToolio does not remove or attempt to bypass DRM protection.

Does it work with AZW3 (KF8) files?

This tool supports both classic Mobipocket and the hybrid KF8 container that Calibre and Kindle have produced for over a decade (tested with real .mobi files of both kinds), but not native AZW3 files without that Mobipocket fallback header; that's a known limitation, not a supported format in this version.

Are all chapters always converted?

Almost always, yes. In very large books with an unusual internal structure, an occasional chapter may be skipped rather than aborting the whole conversion -- the rest of the book is still preserved.
